Where were you born?
Lockport, NY. Home of the 'widest' bridge in the world. It's not very long. It only spans the Erie Canal, but it is very wide. It has a parking lot on it.
What college did you attend?
The State University of New York at Fredonia.
What inspired you to start playing music?
I thought that playing the horn would beat working for a living!
Why did you choose your principal instrument?
It's a long story. Anyone who really wants to know can e-mail me.
What other instruments do you play?
None well enough to even mention!
When did you start playing with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra?
1981, as principal since 1983.
With what other orchestras do you perform?
As a regular member: the Knoxville Symphony as co-principal and the Cascade Music Festival Orchestra as principal.
Occasionally: the Nashville Chamber Orchestra Also, in the past few years I have played with the Cincinnati Symphony, the Nashville Symphony and I’ve been guest principal with the Chautauqua Symphony and the Buffalo Philharmonic.
