Indiana University, Cleveland Institute of Music.

What inspired you to start playing music?
Having a piano in the house was so intriguing, I could hardly wait to play it!

Why did you choose your principal instrument?
It was a little different from the norm, and challenging, I’d heard.

What other instruments do you play?
Piano and Wagner Tuba.

When did you start playing with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra (what year)?
1983.

With what other orchestras do you perform?
LA Opera, Pacific Symphony and the Pasadena Symphony.

Film: First film—“Cocoon”. Most recent—“Spiderman” (Small portion).
Recordings: Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, LA Philharmonic and NBC News theme (with John Williams).

Who is your favorite composer?
Beethoven.
Why?
I love art that comes from troubled people.

This is an impossible question, but it would be something from Beethoven.
