What inspired you to start playing music?
Music in the home; my mother taught piano lessons.

Why did you choose your principal instrument?
I was attracted by the tone of the violin and began lessons at six after wanting to play for quite a while, as I remember.

What other instruments do you play?
Piano.

When did you start playing with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra (what year)?
Two decades.

With what other orchestras do you perform?
Glendale, Santa Barbara, Asia America, and others.

Have you performed for any of the following, and if so, who or what?
Film: “X-Files”, “Rush Hour I & II” and others
Recordings: the gamut from Snoop Doggy Dogg to Placido Domingo; Bocelli, Manilow, Sedaka, Keely Smith, McCoy Tyner, Elton John, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Aaron Neville, etc.
Cartoons: Disney
Touring Artists: from Tesh to the Three Tenors, AASO, Mancini & Percy Faith. I toured USA, Japan, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada and Europe with pop and classical groups.

Who is your favorite composer?
My desert island choice would be Bach.
Why?
Integrated structure & beauty.

What is your favorite orchestral work?
My desert island choice would be the Beethoven symphonies.

What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you while onstage?
The “funny” things never seem to happen to violinists because you’re usually worried that something will happen to your instrument.

What do you enjoy doing besides music? (hobbies, etc.)
Reading, singing, playing with jazz & ethnic music groups, traveling, politics, & spending time with significant other Timm Boatman, frequent percussion sub with LBSO. During the summer of 2004, I played string quartet concerts in one of the most exciting and unusual venues I’ve ever experienced: a rafting trip down the Green River in Utah. An account of my trip was published in an online magazine called Jetsettersmagazine.

Low fat.
